Week one at Write of Passage

Week one at Write of Passage is (almost) in the books. Next week it’s off to Austin for a very quick trip.

So, my favorite roller coaster is the Rock N’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler counts you down from five, and then you go from zero to 57 miles-per-hour in 2.8 seconds.

The takeoff is exhilarating, a little disorienting, and really fun.

Just like week one at Write of Passage.

LinkedIn learnings and posts

Learnings:

• LinkedIn’s algorithm doesn’t like like my drawings, which seem to get half or less of the views of text posts. Not sure I care. I like sharing them as a lighter, Friday afternoon thing. I’ll post today’s cartoon and see if the pattern holds.

• My most popular post this week was about Taylor Swift and her unique take on developing a writing voice. LinkedIn shows only the first five lines of a post (including spaces) in-feed. That’s all you get to stop people from scrolling and entice them to read. That post did the job.

• Thurs: I don’t like “morning routine” posts. So here’s mine.

I know some about the first topic. Less about the second. But that will change shortly.
