I love AI tools and use so many in daily life, but Claude Pro is my favourite for brainstorming and coaching, I also quite often upload pages from my bullet journal and mind maps and ask for help to spot connections and ideas I may have missed ...
ChatGPT is brilliant at helping me come up with learning objectives and written materials for my day job of creating online tutorials for adult AI upskilling and helping me draft a script for video recording...
If I want to do research then Google Gemini Pro new research mode rocks, as does Perplexity for searching and consensus.app for scientific research citations...
Woah, love all the ways you've already integrated so many of these tools. In particular dumping your bullet journal into Claude to find themes and connections. I journal in Apple Notes, and am planning to try the same with my January journal (in ChatGPT).
Very impressive and inspiring Matt! I'm fascinated by how you're learning to apply AI in a variety of practical ways.
I'm sure a bright, stimulating future is woven into the MOVE FORWARD agenda.
The move back to Michigan feels like the right strategic decision, too. I'm super happy in Eastern Pennsylvania. At a certain point, the bright lights and big city no longer satisfies, and the good things in life emerge or re-emerge in a wonderful way, of we're open to them.
That’s awesome you took Nat’s course. I’ve been listening to the pod he does with Nathan Baugh and he had some interesting comments about using AI as a sparring partner for his novel. I’m paraphrasing but directionally he talked about how if you don’t get hung up on the outputs (don’t expect it to rewrite a scene for you) it can help you think of different angles to try with a story. I loved that use and expectation of AI.
Glad you’re getting some good value out of the course and work you’re doing. Please keep us posted on learnings and next steps!
Ah thanks for sharing how Nat's course helped you, I've been thinking about taking it. Like you I'm using ChatGPT pretty much every thirty minutes for something but I have this urge to learn how to build stuff with it based on very specific needs.
I'm excited about your big move Matt and all the stuff you've got cooking this year :-) Missed you in my inbox, glad Steady Beats is back!
Great article Matt! Fascinating seeing the ways AI shows up in different people’s lives, and it’s inspiring to see the way you’re putting it into action. Miss seeing you on Mondays and Fridays amigo.
I'm trying to understand AI too and am feeling like I'm on a crazy accelerator. I'm playing around with Cursor but it definitely is confusing.
(P.S. I only started like 3 weeks ago).
Same! Happy to trade notes / or jump on a call to chat! Love to hear what you're up to with cursor.
Crazy accelerator is right.
omigosh yes totally! lemme send you a DM :)

I could go on and on hehe 🥰

Thanks Chris -- your thoughts on Eastern Pennsylvania resonate, and are encouraging. Lots of good family reasons behind this move.
But we're going to freeze.
The Norwegians say there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes!
I love this mentality but heartily disagree! 😂

Was asking myself yesterday when was the last time I saw one of Matt's emails -- and this didn't disappoint!
I've been on the edge of trying Nat's course, but I've got a few ideas I want to play with, too. Appreciate the testimonial and awesome example!
Now I also want to throw my annual review into the AI blender and see what it tells me. My non-tech theme was "Hell yes, or no."
Moving forward... ;-)
Great to hear from you Scott. Hope all is well with you!

Thanks my friend. Time to crawl out of the cave and get moving again. :)
Hope you're well!
