Wonderful post. As an 80’s kid is was nice to remember the hits.
As for the love of God in trials. Paul recounts his passionate plea for avid to remove his suffering but hears “my grace is sufficient for you”. He goes on to say that he will boast all the more in his weakness for when he is weak, he is strong.
The teaching of sovereignty in suffering is awkward but glorious.
Great post Matt! Terrific anecdotes about those songs.
My partner Nicole was really shocked at the news of his death last week, heart-broken was her word, and when she went to the barn where she boards her horses, she was utterly taken aback by the fact that none of the (young) people at the barn knew who Gordon Lightfoot was. I’ll send her your post.

Thanks again.
Thank you James, wonderful thoughts!
Avid = the lord. “Fat fingers and auto correct”
Love this one!! You're awesome. I can't wait to meet you in person!
Thanks Monica. I'm sure the Ricci Tour will roll through West Florida at some point!
