Of course the fact that your kid is ok is primary. Second however, these experiences where life doesn't support our set of boxes that things do or not go in are such a gift. It's so important to celebrate those reality checks, and I appreciate you modeling your recognition and embrace of it.
Thanks Rick. Are college rivalries silly? Yes. Is it annoying to revisit and revise something that's been cemented in your brain since you were probably 10 years old? Also yes!
So annoying! And time consuming. It's like discovering that your house was wired by a 10-year-old and now you have to hire a contractor to re-do the entire thing to bring it up to adult code.
Great to hear of someone who also drives the trip North. Our trip is about the same total time, but to coastal Connecticut. I admire your stamina in driving straight through. We usually take a few days and plan in some wonderful stops. And we grapple with a similar conundrum - are we New Englanders or Floridians, and how should we plan the future?
So relatable @Drake Greene! Even though I’ve been in Florida over 20 years, I remain a Michigander who despises Northern Februaries. And most of March, and a fair chunk of January …
I love road trips, and need to learn to slow down while taking them. Work and life often necessitates the rush, for now.
Welcome home! So sorry Maddie (and you all) had to go through this again. I am hopeful you got better answers there. I am always hoping she improves. I know how hard this has been for you all. We are always here if any of you need anything at all. Not that we want you guys to leave but have my fingers crossed for Avery. She deserves a wonderful school and UM seems like it. Big hugs to all.
...lots of great news in here and awesome pictures...glad you dug the song too...stopped me dead in my tracks when i heard it...and then for some reason or another was like i think Matt needs to hear this...
So glad your daughter is well, Matt, and that she received exceptional care! Glad you got to enjoy your vacation afterwards too.
Very happy to hear your daughter is fine!

Better late than never, lol
Glad to hear your daughter has been treated properly, and that it's all well now. :)
