This is so well-timed. Everything you wrote describes my latest work-trip, which included foregoing exercise to catch up with a couple of friends here in Denver in my spare windows. I'm sitting on a plane as I read this. Been gone three days and the only exercise has been exactly as you describe, walking instead of using the automated systems. It's really not very hard to get your steps in with a couple of flights in a day. But the long hours sitting on a cramped flight is the worst. Looking forward to getting home and getting back on my bike.

Love it. I'm not sure if the flying experience just continues to get worse or I'm just getting old and crotchety.

It's quite possibly both.

The seats are now so closely packed together on the flights that yesterday the man next to me had to apologize for accidentally taking off the sweater I was wearing when he got hot.
